I used progressive papers, 400, 600, 1,000 and 1,500 grit. Degreased with Dawn dish soap and water, rinsed, dried and further degreased with acetone. Applied Van's gun bluing (cold bluing) bought direct from their website.The patent breech in percussion guns is safer and easier to clean. Drum and nipple breeches are manure from several perspectives. Most modern patent breeches on the factory made guns are designed to be cheap to make and install. BTW stainless steel is also around 5 on the same scale. A good frizzen may actually be harder than obsidian. Never fired by me, but lock is in great working condition and previous... muskethunter1109.I use the rear tang screw and if needed, drill and tap a new whole in the tang. Some of the TC rifle and some of the Pedersoli's come with a hole already there, but of not, do not panic, it's an easy 5 minute job to drill and tap a 6/32 or 8/32 hole. BTW - TOTW has the best prices on the Pedersoli Ghost sights..
