There are 3 main ways to keep dinos unconscious and those are applying more blunt trauma, feeding it Narcotics/Narcoberries, and using tranquilizing weapons. Obviously, using Tranq weapons is the best option, but feeding them Narcotics is probably the safer route to take. If you want to know more about each way, then keep reading the article.

There is really no point to knock it unconscious twice, because it wakes up when it hits 0 torpor, which means to knock it unconscious again you need to get it back up to 180 torpor. I remember them making a fix a while back so that they don't wake up mid tame, they just changed the torpor decay values or something...

Upon doing this, it takes a good while for the creature to wake up. It'll be a great update for us to be able to open the creatures inventory to force feed it Stimulant to make it wake up more quickly.

The only reason I could think of doing so would be to heal it, to let it wake up, to tranq it again. But, if that is the case, TE doesn't matter, because you are letting is wake up and the whole thing resets when you tranq it again.
