Well I don’t think you necessarily have to drop 3500 for a bombora build. The frameset was 850 when I bought mine in 2018. But I know how these things go. ;) My thoughts are 1. there aren’t a whole lot of bike frames out there with the combo of tire clearance, Q factor, thru axles, and geometry that the Bombora offers.The "BOMBORA" is an original frame from "CRUST BIKES" by Matt Whitehead. The Bombora is a slimmed downed Evasion that can take a road crank. Just received my Bombora frameset. Will have it built up in the next couple weeks. First impressions. Frame is surprisingly light and lux feeling. Fork however seems to be the same as the Evasion, suprisinly heavy and heavy duty compared to frame. Interested to see how it rides and flexes!

I'm looking at a Rodeo Labs Flaanimal 5.0, a Fairlight Secan, and a Crust Bombora Celos. Curve Kevin of Steel is tempting too. Being upfront, the Crust frameset is the most expensive and I think offers a lower ratio for what one gets, but it definitely has the best color scheme. I think Fairlight has the least attractive branding.
