While driving down the highway in my 2011 Outback, my 'check engine' light suddenly went on, the 'brake' light flashed, another light came on indicating a car sliding, another light that was a picture of a headlight, my remote was disabled, and my Nav system went on and off. My Subaru dealer couldn't take me for 3 weeks. The dealer reset the code and explained that it takes 3 full running cycles to automatically reset. (engine all the way cold to warmed up x3). TL;DR: If you get a check engine light and Eyesight disabled, check your gas filler cap and run thru 3 warm up/cool down cycles.Start the engine and let it idle for no less than one minute.
